Nothing Here Is a Complaint About Their Service

We found no evidence of anything wrong with how Swyft Filings does this work, and we are not going to invent any. Their formation product has a following, the ordering process is clean, and plenty of owners have used them without incident. This page is about one thing only: the shape of the invoice.

That $149 Buys Ninety Days, Not Twelve Months

The advertised figure for agent service is $149, billed quarterly. Four of those in a twelve month period comes to roughly $596.

That is the largest annual commitment in this market by a wide margin, and the reason it does not feel like one is structural. A quarterly charge is a number the buyer sees; the annual total is a number the buyer has to compute. No screen in the purchase flow ever displays $596, so the comparison against a flat annual price only happens if you stop and do the arithmetic yourself.

Nothing about that is deceptive. It is simply a billing cadence that hides its own size, and the fix takes ten seconds.

Roughly $497 a year, for a duty Louisiana defines identically on both sides of that table.

The Cost of Falling Behind Here

Worth understanding what you are paying somebody to protect, because Louisiana's failure mode is unusually final. Miss the annual report on your organization anniversary and the company leaves good standing. Keep missing it and the state eventually revokes the articles outright, administratively terminating the entity under La. R.S. 12:1339. Roughly three consecutive unfiled years is the practical threshold.

Reinstatement afterwards is its own filing with its own fee. All of it is avoidable with one reminder landing at the right time, which is precisely what the reminder half of this service is for.

Our Version of the Invoice

$99, once, annually. That is the entire billing story, and it reads the same in year seven. Anything a process server delivers to our Louisiana office is scanned and pushed to your portal the same business day with the document attached to an email. Ours is the modest claim, a rate sitting near the bottom of the Louisiana range and staying there, with same-day scanning counted inside it.

The form and where it goes. You can download form #983 as a PDF from the Secretary of State. The Louisiana Secretary of State's Commercial Division receives it. Online submission runs through geauxBIZ, the state's business filing portal.

The fee, and the deadline on the fee. $25 as things stand. Act 921 of the 2026 Regular Session moves it to $30 on October 1, 2026, which is now weeks out rather than months. The same act pushes Articles of Organization from $100 up to $125 that day too, so this is a scheduled batch rather than a one-off.

The acceptance. Louisiana asks the incoming agent to swear an affidavit of acknowledgment and acceptance in front of a notary when the change is filed on paper. That is a step most states skip entirely, and it is a reason to appoint a professional agent rather than improvising: we prepare and notarize our acceptance so the packet arrives complete. The timing, given the quarterly cycle. Since Swyft bills every ninety days, there is a sensible moment to move and a wasteful one. File the change with a few weeks left on a paid quarter. That way you have already been recorded as our client before the next $149 posts, and the appointment is never empty for even a day while the state processes. Deliberate overlap costs you nothing and a vacancy could cost you a default judgment. Do not cancel anything until the state's record confirms.
